Departmental Scholarship Application Form

Thank you for your interest in applying for a Departmental Scholarship at Saint Mary's College of California! Departmental Scholarships are open for submissions to all incoming first year students for Fall 2022. Please note the following deadlines for all application submissions:

Performing Arts (Dance, Music, Theatre Studies & Theatre Performance, and Design and Technical Theatre) will accept audition requests/applications through February 1, 2022, or until all slots are filled. Select students will be invited to audition on Saturday, February 26, 2022 (with overflow dates on Sunday, February 27th).
- Auditions will be offered on campus. Virtual audition requests may be granted if approved by the department.

The application deadline for all other Departmental Scholarships is January 15, 2022. Select students will be invited to interview with faculty on Saturday, February 26, 2022 during Scholarship Saturday.
- Interviews will be offered on campus. Virtual audition requests may be granted if approved by the department.

Departmental Scholarships for both Mathematics and Physics are competition based. Competition for both major-based scholarships are open for any admitted students who wish to compete. Both competitions are held on campus Saturday, February 26, 2022 during Scholarship Saturday.

Saint Mary's Performing Arts scholarships are the only departmental scholarships that allow recipients to major or minor if awarded. Minors in dance, music, and theatre are flexible, and pair well with many majors at the College.

A portfolio illustrating a commitment to inquiry based on the reading and discussion of primary texts. Applicants are invited to be inventive in constructing their portfolios
A short cover letter (no more than 250 words) introducing the portfolio and indicating the student's interest in the Integral Program should be included
